formed with HQ at Goulburn, NSW, by amalgamation of 7th Light Horse Regiment and 21st Light Horse Regiment
1937.07.01 regiment unamalgamated to re-form 7th Light Horse Regiment, and 21st Light Horse Regiment

1948 7th/21st Reconnaissance Regiment (Australian Horse
formed with HQ at Cootamundra, NSW, as an RAAC recce unit in CMF by reconstitution and amalgamation of 7th Light Horse Regiment, and 21st Light Horse Regiment
 
  • HQ Squadron at Cootamundra, Temora
  • A Squadron at Wagga Wagga; det formed by 1953 at Tumut
  • B Squadron at Leeton, Griffith; moved by 1953 to Junee
  • C Squadron at Young, Tumut; det formed by 1953 at Cowra and Tumut det transferred to A Sqn

1953 re-roled as anti-tank unit
1956 squadrons concentrated at Wagga Wagga
