1866.09.14 28th Perth Battalion of Infantry
formed with HQ at Stratford by regimentation of four independent companies
 
  • No. 1 Company at Stratford, raised 1856 as 1st Volunteer Militia Company of Stratford
  • No. 2 Company at Stratford, raised 29 Oct. 1862 as Stratford Infantry Company
  • No. 3 Company at St. Mary's, raised 8 June 1866
